I move around a lot, and when I first got to town I was lucky enough to meet a friend at the dog part who recommended Roo's. Knowledgeable staff / ownership, a clean and easy to use full-service self-wash station ($12 at the time I write this), and a friendly environment. My chocolate lab (Lou) is overly excited every time we arrive, and is welcomed with love from the employees, the kitten on the front desk, and sometimes the pup behind the desk. If you haven't checked them out yet, I hope you do soon! Pro Tip: they are closed on Wednesdays, and the self-wash station closes an hour before closing!
Roo's is my go-to for pet food (Lou is on Blackwood, and they have specifically selected a variety of safe and reputable brands - kibble and raw), raw femur bones, and treats (local options available). Pretty much a one-stop shop; they supply a solid selection of durable toys, chews, leashes and collars (martingales; though no harnesses here), supplements, name tags, and more (all of which I have purchased at one point).
Note: If you are used to bargain shopping for your dog, be prepared to pay a little more than you may be used to, but with greater value and with supporting a local business.
They offer curbside pick-up and I believe delivery (I have yet to use these features)!
To boot, they are the sister store to PineAcre Kennel, a fun and well kept pet day care and boarding facility off 400th and Wheeling. Lou is an on-and-off regular for day-care, and has boarded there a number of times in the last 8 months. Quite frankly, it's a little sad how happy she is when we pull in! ;) There are economical boarding options (I believe you can do a no frill option for about/under $20), and/or you can choose add-ons such as 1:1 play time, evening PB kong, day-care, etc.
I hope you check them out!
